A couple of days ago Google announced Google TV.
Rest is totally imho… This google tv sounds like “yeahwhateva” if i want to watch something online i just plug a cable in computer and sit in sofa. Yeah, in old days you had buy a new gadget for every technology you wanted to use with tv (vcr, dvd, dvd with mpeg support, dvd with Divx support, dvd with usb support, media center, playstation, blueray, tivo, dvb-t, etc). So on one hand google makes a step towards convergence and synergy, BUT.
Now you need just two cables – one for cabetv, other for pc and nothing more. and with such solution i can not only watch crappy youtube video diary of chris crocker but also play games, browse, show photos, videos
Anyway this is next step in google tendency to rule the world. Weird, that they dont have a consumer electronics. it would be cool if i walk up to fridge where 13″ monitor cheerfully announces that milk is sour and i should by one from neares 30 stores, but then there are some who will deliver it right to me if i click just a sinlge buttton.
Still, thanks for discussion. i will continue. this kind of sucks. technologies go that way that anything you buy tomorrow was already old yesterday. on the other hand – anything you bought yesterday was full of features that you will not use even in a year.
still, i think google is kind of loosing grap. laste few superdupertechnologies died even without living a moment … yet…- wave, buzz….
