FYI to spare me time later. why cellfex doesnt run on older macs:
MacOsX is made by Apple like Windows is made by Microsoft. MacOsX is picky about stability and rarely supports newer technologies for older systems. Cellfex needs Java SE 6. But java 6 was released in 2006, but mac os x version 10.4 – in 2005. so backwards compatibility is poor or not at all (unless he has Intel processor so he can update os) so:
2005 – Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger on intel or PowerPC processors (the one that one of our “assets” had). Cellfex will not launch.
2006 – Java 6
2007 – Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard was released in the beginning of 2007 for Intel driven processors and it already works with java 6
So to be short – if user has (or can update) to Mac OS X version 10.5, then everything is tip top.
On the other hand – mac community is so passionate that i’ve seen just 2 persons in my life which said “newer MacOSX version? why?”. all of them are crazy about updating system. And why not if you compare 30$ mac 10.6 upgrade to 90$ (home edition) windows upgrade. no need to be einstein to figure out that mac is more affordable (and not to star mac vs. win flame i can tell you from my own latest experience – it is not possible to find cheap laptop that would match MacBook Pro specs. basicly, they are same price)
