All those Mac users who enjoy free services of SequelPro – recently export was improved in a very very very good way. Now you can export tables and select explicitly if you want to export either structure, data or both for every single table in db.
Makes life so much easier.
Mac OS X Lion has finally arrived.
As i said before – doesn’t look like a Operating System to me, resembles more of a Facelifted System with all kind of stuff i never asked for, but i can give away some bucks to get a facelift.
Anyhow, MultiTouch Gestures seem interesting. Suddenly Magic Trackpad makes sense.
This is amazing, fascinating [... other astonishing words here....]
once it’s (next year togeather with iPad 3 probably) i am sure i am gonna get one for myself.
I love mac. Windows lovers love box. Why?
I wanted to read Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 3 and 10.5 Update 8 Release Notes yesterday but felt kind of tired and after all forgot about update until Oleg draw my attention to that again.
Quote:
Java Deprecation
As of the release of Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 3, the version of Java that is ported by Apple, and that ships with Mac OS X, is deprecated.
This means that the Apple-produced runtime will not be maintained at the same level, and may be removed from future versions of Mac OS X. The Java runtime shipping in Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, and Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, will continue to be supported and maintained through the standard support cycles of those products.
Dont you dare to “not support” java at all just like it is now on iOS. I will be very very very disapointed. Very.
By the name of upcoming Mac OS X “facelift” – Lion you can surely say that this might be the last OS X edition. Really – if there were panthers, leopards, tigers, then there is no future after Lion – the king of the beasts.
I always liked reasonable naming conventions and code names of which the imho best has Ubuntu with all those alphabetic animals.
Back to Mac OS X and newest buzzword that will float around for at least next couple of years – Mac OS X 10.7 Lion which “arrives summer 2011″. Just like snow leopard, also Lion in my opinion is just a visual facelift and some thingies in addition to make life easier. but really – why wait 10 years to come up with something revoutionary when you can just keep up with the mainstream just by releasing a new verion every couple of years. Thats what i found out from Mac OS X Lion Preview on Apple Special Event 10/20/10. Read the rest of this entry »
FYI to spare me time later. why cellfex doesnt run on older macs:
MacOsX is made by Apple like Windows is made by Microsoft. MacOsX is picky about stability and rarely supports newer technologies for older systems. Cellfex needs Java SE 6. But java 6 was released in 2006, but mac os x version 10.4 – in 2005. so backwards compatibility is poor or not at all (unless he has Intel processor so he can update os) so: Read the rest of this entry »
I found this small Mac thingie called “growl” first was a bit annoyed about it’s verbosity, but after some small tweaks and configuration it turned out to be quite handy. So handy that i miss it on my windows box.
It notifies not only about the fact, for example – new skype message, but also tells what and by whom was said. New mails, updated rss feed, etc. Unlike huge dialogue on the screen where you have to click “OK” this Growl just pops out on semitransparent box in bottom left screen (i guess thats configurable too) and i dont have to switch to the app to see what hapened since i already know who did what.
I usually am not big fan of such disctracting things, but this is less distracting than switching between apps and hey, its for free.
I spilled beer over my mac aluminum keyboard. While i get new one, had tu plug in regular PC keyboard and for my huge dissapointment Cmd wasnt working at all. Of ocurse it is possible to switch keys in keyboard properties, but i it still doesn’t recognize Windows key and anyway – i am used (blind typing) to Cmd where it was (where regular keyboard has Alt) Read the rest of this entry »
